The service to victims of domestic and / or intra-family violence: the perception of professionals

Domestic and intrafamily violence are among the most serious problems faced by society, including various abusive practices, such as physical, emotional, and psychological abuse. These practices can have traumatic consequences for all individuals involved, requiring coping actions by different sectors, such as health, education, social work, justice and policies. The objective of this research was to analyze the interventional actions and measures provided to women and children, victims of domestic and / or intrafamily violence. The protocols for assisting victims were analyzed and a questionnaire was applied to 17 professionals from different care institutions. The data were analyzed with the aid of the IRaMuTeQ software. The professionals indicated that they seek to carry out a network work, in order to assist all those involved in the cycle of violence. However, the actions taken are carried out on an individual basis, and there is no joint work between the service institutions. In relation to children, care is still incipient, mainly due to the lack of adequate physical structure and trained professionals. Thus, it is necessary to improve the articulation of social policies so that care is better structured.
