Science Teaching by research: a survey in journals of the area

Resumo: We aim to find scientific papers in Portuguese and Spanish languages related to the science teaching by research, systematizing the production of literature in this field with regard to the nature of the works, their distribution over time and the level of teaching and disciplines related to them. We searched all editions of thirty electronic journals classified in the A1, A2 and B1 strata of the Teaching Area at Qualis-CAPES quadrennium 2013-2016. In all, we found 101 papers, half of them in only four journals. Analyzing the results obtained, we show that: the publication of papers on teaching by research intensified only from 2014; most of them are empirical, with shortage of review papers and of papers that analyze how this approach is present in resources such as textbooks; the majority of the empirical papers are related to Elementary and High School, especially to Biology and Physics, with a certain shortage of papers associated with Initial Teacher Training courses and Chemistry. Finally, we suggest questions that may help in the expansion and deepening of this work.

Finally, we suggest questions that may help in the expansion and deepening of this work.Objetivamos levantar artigos científicos em línguas portuguesa e espanhola relacionados ao ensino de ciências por investigação, sistematizando a produção da literatura nesse campo no que diz respeito à natureza dos trabalhos, à distribuição deles ao longo do tempo e ao nível de ensino e disciplinas a eles associados. Realizamos buscas em todas as edições de trinta periódicos eletrônicos classificados nos estratos A1, A2 e B1 da Área de Ensino no Qualis-CAPES quadriênio 2013-2016. Ao todo foram encontrados 101 artigos, metade deles em apenas quatro periódicos. Analisando os resultados obtidos, evidenciamos que: a publicação de trabalhos sobre o ensino por investigação se intensificou apenas a partir de 2014; a maioria deles são de cunho empírico, havendo escassez de artigos de revisão e de artigos que analisam de que maneira essa abordagem se faz presente em recursos como livros didáticos; a maioria dos artigos de cunho empírico se relacionam aos Ensinos Fundamental e Médio, especialmente à Biologia e à Física, havendo certa escassez de trabalhos associados a cursos de Licenciatura e à disciplina Química. Por fim, sugerimos questões que podem auxiliar na ampliação e no aprofundamento deste trabalho.
