Resumo: Information management and strategies for real gain must be based on concrete facts, in order to minimize the occurrence of errors that make it impossible to make decisions that are becoming more automated every day. With the use of technological resources, it is possible to store a large amount of data, manipulate them with the powerful software to filter, translate and consolidate them into an end product, where the result is presented in the form of graphs, reports or for queries on the most varied hardware. In order to investigate and understand the student's involvement with the subjects in a virtual learning environment, we developed this research to study the student relation with the available material, and for its accomplishment we investigated the amount of access to contents and materials in two disciplines in the degree course in mathematics offered at a distance. We collected data on the activities and participation of 423 students enrolled in the courses of integral calculus and 368 in algebraic structures, offered in the first half of 2018. After tabulation of the data, we identified a concentration in the accesses referring to the didactic material, with 78.24% of the visualizations for the discipline of Integral Calculus and 77.40% in Algebraic Structures. The condensation in the studies occurred between Monday and Thursday, with 85% of the students accessing the AVA between 10 and 23 hours of the day. This is justified because it deals with disciplines with greater involvement of study time in the resolution of practical activities and calculations, and it is not necessary to have constant access to the virtual environment.
