Resumo: The research aimed to analyze the relationships between Social Representations and scientific knowledge about viral infections in PROEJA's class Biology classes. The research corpus consists of dialogues collected in a focus group context, whose subjects' voices were analyzed based on the guidelines of the Discursive Textual Analysis. The discussion pointed out that the students constructed social representations about viral infections, especially in their relationships in the community and / or in contexts that were infected by some type of virus. And that these knowledges can be scientifically strengthened and reworked through contextualized curricular practices that guarantee social and curricular justice.

O corpus da pesquisa consiste em diálogos coletados em contexto de grupo focal, cujas vozes dos sujeitos foram analisadas tendo por base as orientações da Análise Textual Discursiva. A discussão apontou que os alunos construíram Representações Sociais sobre infecções virais, sobretudo, nas suas relações na comunidade e/ou em contextos que foram infectados por algum tipo de vírus.
