Resumo: This article intends to bring in a series of reflections around the methodological and theoretical possibilities that open up the employment of epistles as useful sources for the analysis of the problem of sociability. Our starting point is the analysis of the concept and the theoretical-methodological possibilities contributed by the studies from the sociability to the field of history. Following that, we will conduct ourselves to a case study, where the epistle is captured as the pertinent shortcut to study the sociability forms with individuals in a concrete space and time.
