Resumo: The purpose of this article is to reflect on the clash at the Universityof Paris between the secular masters and the begging masters. This quarrel occurred because the seculars felt threatened with the entrance of the beggars in the University. To carry out this reflection, we chose as sources for the study the writing of Guillherme de Santo Amor entitled Tractatus brevis de periculis novissimorum temporum (Brief treatise on the dangers of recent times) as a representative of the secular masters and three writings of Boaventura de Bagnoregio Cuestiones disputed on la Perfeccion Evangélica, The perfection of life and Itinerary of the Mind to God. At the epicenter of this dispute were begging and knowledge. From these two questions, the containers chose as a weapon to fight the penalty and the University became the liaison. We will try to explain that, through these writings, we will be able to understand the social and theoretical changes that occurred in the medieval West, placing on the agenda a new worldview, of which the beggars were its exhibitors. We also observed that our reflections consider the writings from the perspective of social history and we will have memory as our guiding thread.

No epicentro dessa disputa estavam a mendicância e o conhecimento.
