Interdisciplinarity and formation of librarians to work in school libraries

Resumo: Introduction: From the publication of Manifesto, in the year 1999, and Guidelines for Scholar Libraries ("Diretrizes para Bibliotecas Escolares"), in 2005, the librarian started to occupy a primordial position in the scholar learning process. Therefore, the librarian must present his skills and informative competence to student’s outgrowth; develop the learn-to-learn process, converting raw information in knowledge. Objective: Encourage reflection on the pedagogical singularity of BE and the current profile of the librarian in meeting these specificities. Methodology: Bibliographical research and comparative analysis of guidelines of librarians’ formation and Scholar Libraries. Results: Discussion over the pedagogical functions of school library and the librarian in the educational institution and proposals of interdisciplinary between the areas of Information Science and Education. Conclusions: Points to Interdisciplinarity as efficient possibility in the formation of education and information professionals to carry out the role of the School Library. Through a dialogic educational program between educators and librarians, the library turns into a space of the information and knowledge, promoting its role in developing the imagination and citizenship of its users.

Por lo tanto, el bibliotecario debe disponer sus habilidades y competencias informativas al aprendizaje de los estudiantes; desarrollar el proceso de aprender a aprender, la conversión de la información en el conocimiento. Objetivo: Fomentar la reflexión sobre la singularidad pedagógica de la BE y el perfil actual del bibliotecario en la atención de esas especificidades. Metodología: Investigación bibliográfica y análisis comparativo de las directrices de la formación de los bibliotecarios y Bibliotecas Escolares. Resultados: Discusión sobre las funciones pedagógicas de la Biblioteca Escolar y del bibliotecario dentro de la institución de enseñanza y la interdisciplinaridad entre las áreas de la Ciencia de la Información y la Educación. Conclusiones: Apunta la interdisciplinaridad como posibilidad eficiente en la formación de los profesionales de educación y de la biblioteconomía para efectivizar el papel de la Biblioteca Escolar. Por medio de un programa pedagógico dialógico entre educadores y bibliotecarios, la biblioteca actúa como espacio de información y conocimiento, promoviendo el desarrollo educativo de sus usuarios.Introdução: Desde a publicação do Manifesto, no ano de 1999, e das Diretrizes para Bibliotecas Escolares, em 2005, ambos da IFLA/UNESCO, o bibliotecário passa a ocupar uma posição primordial no processo educativo da escola. Dessa forma, o bibliotecário deve dispor de suas habilidades e competências informativas ao aprendizado do aluno, no processo de aprender a aprender e de transformar a informação em conhecimento. Objetivo: Fomentar a reflexão sobre a singularidade pedagógica da BE e o perfil atual do bibliotecário no atendimento dessas especificidades. Metodologia: Pesquisa bibliográfica e análise comparativa de documentos norteadores da formação de bibliotecários e Bibliotecas Escolares. Resultados: Discussão sobre as funções pedagógicas da Biblioteca Escolar e do bibliotecário dentro da instituição de ensino e a interdisciplinaridade entre as áreas da Ciência da Informação e Educação. Conclusões: Aponta a interdisciplinaridade como possibilidade eficiente na formação dos profissionais de educação e da biblioteconomia para se efetivar o papel da Biblioteca Escolar.
