A political project by instruction: a hundred years of the Pastoral Letter of D. Leme

Resumo: The rereading of the centennial Pastoral Letter of greeting from D. Leme to diocesans in the Archdiocese of Olinda, in 1916, allows to understand, from historical and historiographical aspects, the composition between ultramontanism and traditionalism in the text of strong politicalbias, in which the archbishop intended a project of religious instruction for the catholicpeople. The analysis points out some aspects of the text in the educational and ideological issues of the period of its production, highlighting the separation between education and instruction in the text. The theoretical framework in the concept of temporality of Paul Ricoeur, beyond the beddings of the philosophy of the history of this author, for its phenomenological entail, allowed a specific understanding of proposals of the archbishop. It was about a bibliographical study in which the Pastoral Letter is a document and a vestige of that time, studied along with some papal encyclicals, also treated documentarily.

Leme a sus diocesanos en la archidiócesis de Olinda, en 1916, permite comprender, a partir de aspectos históricos e historiográficos, la composición entre ultramontanismo y tradicionalismo en el texto de fuerte propensión política, en el cual el arzobispo pretendía un proyecto de instrucción religiosa sobre el pueblo católico. El análisis sitúa algunos aspectos del texto en las cuestiones educacionales e ideológicas del período de su producción, señalando la separación entre educación e instrucción contenida en el texto. El referencial teórico en el concepto de temporalidad de Paul Ricoeur, además de los fundamentos de la filosofía de la historia de este autor, por su vinculación fenomenológica, permitió una comprensión específica de las propuestas del arzobispo. Se trató de un estudio bibliográfico en el cual la Carta Pastoral es un documento y un vestigio de aquel tiempo, estudiada con algunas encíclicas papales, también tratadas documentalmente.A releitura da centenária Carta Pastoral de saudação de D. Leme aos seus diocesanos na arquidiocese de Olinda, em 1916,permite compreender, a partir de aspectos históricos e historiográficos, a composição entre ultramontanismo e tradicionalismo no texto de forte viés político, no qual o arcebispo pretendia um projeto de instrução religiosa sobre o povo católico. A análise situa alguns aspectos do texto nas questões educacionais e ideológicas do período de sua produção, destacando a separação entre educação e instrução havida no texto. O referencial teórico no conceito de temporalidade de Paul Ricoeur, além dos fundamentos da filosofia da história desse autor, por sua vinculação fenomenológica, permitiu uma compreensão específica das propostas do arcebispo.
