Resumo: This study aimed to evaluate the performance and biochemical profile of 40 Norfolk 2000 female rabbits, at age average of 97 ± 4,18 days, treated with diets of alcohol or different quantities of alcoholic extracts of propolis (1000, 2000 e 3000 ppm), for 35 days. Total protein, glucose, urea, albumin, creatinine, transaminase (AST e ALT) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were analyzed, from blood samples collected before and after the treatment period. Differences among treatments were observed for glucose, AST and LDH. Animals receiving 3000 ppm of propolis in diet showed higher variations. The rabbits consuming diet of 1000 ppm of alcoholic extracts of propolis showed the best performance, while the animals receiving diet of 3000 ppm of extract demonstrated poorer performance, probably for metabolic changes.
