Resumo: The increase in body fat levels associated with the decrease in physical activities in adolescents has been the concern of recent researches because there is a strong correlation between the growing number of early-age obesity cases and the appearance of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hypertension, behavior problems and even death when not treated in time. So this study aimed to analyze through a bibliographical investigation some of the factors that cause obesity in adolescents and propose alternative physical activities to help in the treatment and minimize the problem. The analysis showed that programmed, controlled and adequate physical activities, associated with changes in behavior and lifestyle, may revert obesity condition and improve life quality of these adolescents.

The analysis showed that programmed, controlled and adequate physical activities, associated with changes in behavior and lifestyle, may revert obesity condition and improve life quality of these adolescents.O aumento dos níveis de gordura corporal associado à diminuição dos níveis de atividade física na adolescência tem se tornado motivo de maior preocupação em pesquisas recentes. Department of Physical Education - State University of Maringá (UEM), Maringá-PR, Brazil2008-06-05info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/3776Journal of Physical Education; Vol 12 No 1 (2001); 59-67Journal of Physical Education; Vol. 12 Núm. 1 (2001); 59-67Journal of Physical Education; v. 12 n. 1 (2001); 59-672448-2455reponame:Journal of Physical Education (Maringá)instname:Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)instacron:UEMporhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/3776/2597Prati, Sergio Roberto AdrianoPetroski, Edio Luizinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-01-10T15:37:22Zoai:periodicos.uem.br/ojs:article/3776Revistahttp://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/indexPUBhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.php||revdef@uem.br2448-24552448-2455opendoar:2023-01-10T15:37:22Journal of Physical Education (Maringá) - Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)false
