Efeito de diferentes fontes de adubação orgânica em cultivares de palma forrageira no cariri paraibano

The cactus forage stands out as the main forage support for the Brazilian semi -arid region, mainly during the dry season. However, such a crop has been decimated by the Cochineal Carmine pest, which causes large negative impacts to the population of the affected regions, directly and indirectly. Thus, the research was carried out with the objective of evaluating the behavior of cactus forage, Orelha de Elefante Mexicana, Baiana and Miúda, both resistant to Cochineal Carmine, submitted to different sources of organic fertilizers, cultivated in the Microregions of Cariri Ocidental and Oriental paraibano. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design, with the cultivars Orelha de Elefante Mexicana, Baiana and Miúda in the plots, and in the subplots treatments bovine manure (20 t/ha), humic acid (5 L/ha), fulvic acid (5 L/ha) and no fertilization, with four replicates. The experimental area was one hectare with plants distributed in double rows at a spacing of 1.50 m x 0.50 m x 0.50 m, containing 20,000 plants per hectare. It was evaluated after two years, plant height, mean racket number per plant, mean racket weight, green mass per plant and yield of green mass and dry mass. The data were submitted to statistical analysis and the means were compared by the Tukey test at the 5% probability level. The bovine manure was the treatment that provided better yields to the variables in the experimental field of Sumé. In th e field of São João do Cariri, bovine manure differed statistically from humic acid in the variable racket per plant. The cultivar Miúda had the highest production of rackets per plant and the cultivar Orelha de Elefante Mexicana gained the highest racket weight in both fields. The Orelha de Elefante Mexicana statistically differed only from the cultivar Miúda on green mass yield in the experimental field of Sumé.
