Resumo: In this work was have presented how the process by which our auditory system interprets sounds works, this process is called Auditory Transduction. The main objective of this research is to present, from a biological and mathematical point of view, the functioning of the our hearing aids, from the moment we receive the sound waves coming from the external environment, until the moment it is transformed into electrical pulses they are sent to the brain making us recognize the sounds around us To achieve this goal, tools from Linear Algebra and Real Analysis were used, such as: Vector Spaces munided with an internal product; approximation for Least squares and the Fourier series, which adequately describe how sound waves behave in the medium by which they propagate.

Constitui-se como objetivo principal desta pesquisa apresentar do ponto de vista biológico e matemático, o funcionamento do nosso aparelho auditivo, desde o momento em que recebemos as ondas sonoras provenientes do meio externo, até o momento em que esta é transformada em pulsos elétricos que são enviados ao cérebro fazendo-nos reconhecer os sons à nossa volta.
