Resumo: This dissertation is a contribution to the Education, Communication and Culture line of the Graduate Program in Education, Communication and Culture in Urban Peripheries - UERJ, based on a phenomenological look at Favela's empirical research, this dissertation is about the trajectory of CAFF -Cidade Alta Football from Favela. With the contributions of the first inhabitants of the Upper City from the slums of the 60s, they tell the history of the football championships in the Upper City from the foundation to the present day, adding as belonging to the local history and certifying that through football there is a positive appreciation of their identity as a favela. We present the emergence of the main teams of the pick up football games and the birth of the team that subjectivate all of the them, nowadays, the CAFF.

Para isso, utilizamos depoimentos dos primeiros moradores da Cidade Alta oriundos de remoções das favelas na década de 1960, que narram à trajetória dos campeonatos de futebol existentes na Cidade Alta desde a sua fundação aos dias atuais acrescentando como pertencimento da história local e certificando que através do futebol existe uma valorização positiva da sua identidade como favela.
