“MATAR COM CUIDADO DE OURIVES”: REPRESENTAÇÕES DE VIOLÊNCIA NO CONTO O REVÓLVER DA PAIXÃO, DE NÉLIDA PIÑON

This article aims to analyse the tale O Revólver da Paixão, which is part of the selection O Calor das Coisas by the Brazilian writer Nélida Piñon (1998), in order to identify aspects related to the representation of interpersonal violence between intimate partners. The research is bibliographical, and takes a theoretical-critical approach based on Literary Theory and on conceptions of violence, as conceived by Coelho, Lindner and Silva (2014) and Saffioti (2004), as well as the concept of symbolic violence postulated by the philosopher Bourdieu, and explained by Souza (2014) and Brandt (2014). It was a qualitative research and, as such, the analysis did not have one single point of view. At the end of the analysis, it was possible to affirm that Piñon’s work represents, in fact, some of the forms of violence discussed over the text, especially the ones that are characteristic of violence between intimate partners and of symbolic violence.
