Resumo: This article aims to lift a discussion on the conception ofhappiness in the contemporary era. Happiness often fragmented, breakingwith the relationship otherness, basing on a subjectivism and materialism.As a methodology, we will work with authors such as Aristotle, Augustine,Pascal Bruckner, Zugmunt Bauman, among others. Finally, it is concludedthat happiness was taken in the contemporary world unlike classic andmedieval period, seen in a materialistic attitude and emptying of thesubjectivist I and the "real" meaning of happy life, however, if you knowthat this "real" meaning is largely problematicthat we faced with thefollowing question: What"™s true the contentment of happiness? This, foryour time, more than some kind of telos to beachieved, it seems to us thatthis is an existential stance of the individual on his own existence.

Felicidade muitas vezesfragmentada, rompendo com a relação alteridade, fundamentando-se emum subjetivismo e materialismo. Como metodologia, trabalharemos comautores como Aristóteles, Agostinho, Pascal Bruckner, Zugmunt Bauman,entre outros. Por fim, conclui-se que a felicidade fora tomada no mundocontemporâneo diferentemente do perí­odo clássico e medieval, vista emuma postura materialista e subjetivista de esvaziamento do Eu e do "real"significado da vida feliz, contudo, se sabe que este "real" significado éamplamente problematizado ao ponto de nos depararmos com a seguintequestão: qual é verdadeira matéria do contentamento da felicidade?
