Summary: Dans une perspective interdisciplinaire, considérant l’approche faisant intervenir la science du langage et du droit, cet article discute des résultats d’une étude sur la simplification du langage juridique en tant que moyen de démocratiser l’accès à la justice, à Cruz Alta - RS. Cette étude est justifiée par le fait que la compréhension par la société des expressions juridiques pose de grandes difficultés, ce qui entrave l’accès à la justice. Les données montrent un progrès dans l'acceptation et l'exercice de la simplification du langage juridique, jusque-là pratiquement inacceptable pour les opérateurs du droit.MOTS-CLÉS: discours. O estudo justifica-se pelo fato de que há uma grande dificuldade por parte da sociedade na compreensão de expressões jurídicas, o que dificulta o acesso à Justiça. El estudio se justifica por el hecho de que hay una gran dificultad por parte de la sociedad en la comprensión de expresiones jurídicas, lo que dificulta el acceso a la justicia.
