The work in question aims to show that the work of the black journalist does not have visibility enough and that there is still prejudice towards these professionals. The problem is demonstrated through a historical panorama, ranging from slavery to the present, addressing issues such as black education, racism in the media, the job market, especially for the journalist and, finally, we chose some names of black journalists from Alagoas to talk about their trajectory and work. It is noticed that, due to a historical factor, the training opportunities are smaller, and as a result we have a smaller number of black journalists and when we talk about the visibility of the black journalist and their work the number is even smaller.
