Resumo: Os shrimps of the genus Macrobrachium are used in aquaculture and also operated by commercial fishing. Among the species of the genus, M. amazonicum there is the tasty meat and socioeconomic importance that represents the states of Amazonas, Pará and Amapá. Most of the fresh-water shrimp has been focused on the M. rosenbergii, however, M. amazonicum is attracting increasing interest for the commercial cultivation, due to rapid growth, easy maintenance in captivity and rusticity. The objective of this work is to use flour as a food supplement in piracuí development of Macrobrachium amazonicum in conditions of captivity, assessing its growth through biometry after the change. The shrimp’s cath in the experiment occurred in the lake Macurany on the back of the city of Parintins / AM. To catch them was used type of shrimp traps. After being collected, individuals were measured (total length) and isolated in containers with a capacity of 1L. Batteries consist of a control group which is offered basic commercial diet, an experimental group which is offered basic diet supplemented with 10% of meal Piracuí and one experimental group to which is offered basic diet supplemented with 20% of meal Piracuí. At the end of the experiment shows that the shrimp had a survival of 63.33% for the control and 66.67% for the treatments 10% and 20%. Bromatological analysis performed by the Coordination of Research on Aquaculture - CPAq/Inpa the meal piracuí and batteries used in experimental diets showed the high crude protein content of flour piracuí (72.4%), being an excellent source animal protein, and can even be used as an ingredient alternative to traditional. By analyzing the chemical composition, it appears that supplementation of 10 and 20% of meal in the diet piracuí basic, did not increase significantly the level of the same protein. This factor may partially explain the results for growth presented statistical analysis, which showed no significant difference (p> 0.05%) between the averages.
