Technological Prospection and Neuropathic Pain: therapeutic perspective

Resumo: The objective of this contribution is to present a possible future scenario of the market for development and production of pain medications. The state of the treatment and management of neuropathic pain from the point of view of pharmaceutical technological development and health technologies is analyzed through research in a database of patents and clinical trials in progress. For this, studies of technological prospection were made during the period of 11 years, between the years 2006 to 2017.The results of the research were satisfactory, concluding that the technology is more widely used in countries of North America, Europe and Asia, where investments and drug research development are greater. Thus, it is possible to verify that the USA is the largest depository of patents and scientific articles, with a significant number of anti-inflammatory and analgesic development, as well as antidepressants, widely used in treatment. Brazil has seen growth over the years, but still has a small number of patents.

Analisa-se o estado do tratamento e gerenciamento da dor neuropática, do ponto de vista do desenvolvimento tecnológico farmacêutico e de tecnologias em saúde, por meio de pesquisa em base de dados de patentes. Para isso foram realizados estudos de prospecção tecnológica no período de 11 anos, de 2006 a 2017. Os resultados da pesquisa foram satisfatórios, concluindo que a tecnologia apresenta maior uso nos países da América do Norte, Europa e Ásia, onde os investimentos e desenvolvimento de pesquisa em medicamentos são maiores. Dessa forma, é possível verificar que os EUA são os maiores depositadores de patentes e artigos científicos, com um significante número de desenvolvimento de anti-inflamatórios e analgésicos, assim como antidepressivos, muito utilizados no tratamento.
