Zinc Oxide and Eugenol (ZOE) with Piperine in Pharmacology Applied to Dentistry: technological prospection for an innovative overview

Resumo: Zinc - Eugenol Oxide (ZOE) is widely used as a dental therapeutic restorative material. However, studies indicate that ZOE has few mechanical properties and high cytotoxicity relative to human dental pulp stem cells. The objective of this work is to make the technological prospecting on the compound Zinc and Eugenol Oxide with the addition of Piperine. In the construction of this research, the patent bases of the European Patent Office (Espacenet), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Intelectual (INPI) were used to collect and analyze the information related to the subject. We use the terms: ZnO, ZOE, Zinc Oxide, Eugenol, Zinc Oxide, Piperine and Piperine. The results showed that the proposed innovation is still of limited knowledge, because there are no patents using ZOE with the addition of Piperine were found. Although the healing aspects of the compound are recognized, the combination mentioned is new.

No entanto, estudos indicam que o ZOE tem poucas propriedades mecânicas e alta citotoxicidade em relação às células-tronco da polpa dental humana. O objetivo deste trabalho é efetuar a prospecção tecnológica sobre o composto Óxido de Zinco e Eugenol com adição de Piperina. Na construção dessa pesquisa, empregaram-se as bases de patentes da European Patent Office (Espacenet), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) e Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) para coletar e analisar as informações relativas ao tema abordado. Foram utilizados os termos: ZnO, ZOE, Zinc Oxide, Eugenol, Óxido de Zinco, Piperina e Piperine. Os resultados demonstraram que a inovação proposta ainda é de conhecimento restrito, pois não foram encontradas patentes que utilizem o ZOE com a adição da Piperina.
