Coconut Fiber as Raw Material for Product Development: a technological prospection in patent banks

Resumo: The use of the coconut goes much beyond what is found and extracted from its interior, having its outside part potential of industrial use. The fiber removed from the coconut shell has been used for many purposes capable of improving economic development as well as sustainable development. This paper presents an analysis of technologies related to coconut fiber deposited in patent bases using Orbit® software. The results obtained show a tendency for business strategies, as well as national and international governments and research institutions, with a gradual interest in the investment in technologies related to the subject (the results allow to base the affirmation on "gradual interest in the investment in technologies related to the theme"). It is verified that coconut fiber has the capacity to be exploited in future researches due to its versatility, supplying demands of the society allied with the environmental preservation.

A fibra retirada da casca do coco vem sendo utilizada para muitas finalidades capazes de melhorar o desenvolvimento econômico, bem como o desenvolvimento sustentável. O presente artigo realiza uma análise de tecnologias relacionadas à fibra de coco depositadas em bases de patentes utilizando o software Orbit®. Os resultados obtidos demonstram inclinações para estratégias empresariais, bem como de governos e instituições de pesquisas nacionais e internacionais, com um gradativo interesse pelo investimento em tecnologias vinculadas ao tema (os resultados permitem embasar a afirmação sobre “gradativo interesse pelo investimento em tecnologias vinculadas ao tema”).
