But we still do not know the absolute mass scale, the value of the Dirac CP violation phase d, the octant of the atmospheric mixing angle ?23, the neutrino mass ordering and, if the neutrinos are Majorana, the two Majorana phases. Flavor symmetries can help us understand the structure of the neutrino mixing and possibly make predictions about unknown parameters. We study the use of the µ - t reflection symmetry that leads to maximal values for the Dirac CP phase and the atmospheric mixing angle, indicated by current experiments. However, only with this symmetry, it is not possible to make further predictions of e.g. establish the value of the absolute mass scale of neutrinos. Thus, the purpose of this thesis is to look for ways to increase the predictive power of models with µ-t reflection symmetry. We built a highly predictive model in the neutrino sector by adding an abelian symmetry to generate a texture zero in addition to the µ - t reflection symmetry structure. With this reduction of parameters, it is possible to predict the absolute mass scale. In the heavy neutrino sector there are only two free parameters that are additionally constrained in order to correctly generate the primordial baryon asymmetry. This asymmetry is calculated using Boltzmann equations, which are studied in this thesis, including flavor effects that are important in the presence of the µ - t reflection symmetry.Nishi, Celso ChikahiroDias, Alex GomesFong, Chee ShengQueiroz, Farinaldo S.Holanda, Pedro Cunha deSilva, Giovane de Souza2019info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisapplication/pdf111 f. : il.http://biblioteca.ufabc.edu.br/index.php?codigo_sophia=122282http://biblioteca.ufabc.edu.br/index.php?codigo_sophia=122282&midiaext=79584http://biblioteca.ufabc.edu.br/index.php?codigo_sophia=122282&midiaext=79583Cover: http://biblioteca.ufabc.edu.br/php/capa.php?obra=122282porreponame:Repositório Institucional da UFABCinstname:Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC)instacron:UFABCinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-04-04T16:42:58Zoai:BDTD:122282Repositório InstitucionalPUBhttp://www.biblioteca.ufabc.edu.br/oai/oai.phpopendoar:2022-04-04T16:42:58Repositório Institucional da UFABC - Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC)false |
