Apesar disso, pessoas também são naturalmente aptas a avaliar sua própria memória e criar estratégias que influenciam em seu desempenho e autoconceito mnemônico, um atributo cognitivo conhecido como metamemória. Já está bem documentado que julgamentos metacognitivos podem variar em tarefas de memória, mas pouco se sabe sobre a relação entre o autoconceito mnemônico geral de adultos jovens com o desempenho para êxitos e intrusões em tarefas de recordação e reconhecimento, bem como se confiança pode predizer recordação verdadeira e falsa. O presente estudo apresenta dois artigos: o primeiro se trata de um procedimento de construção e avaliação de listas de palavras semanticamente relacionadas para o português brasileiro, baseado no paradigma Deese-Roediger-McDermott (DRM), modelo composto por tarefas de recordação e reconhecimento para estudar falsas memórias; o segundo, se trata de um estudo sobre as relações entre o autoconceito mnemônico, julgamentos de confiança e desempenho para memórias verdadeiras e falsas. Neste estudo, 79 participantes de ambos os sexos, com escolaridade superior e nível de inteligência média e alta foram testados por meio de um questionário de memória prospectiva e retrospectiva, uma escala afetivaemocional, um teste de recordação e reconhecimento de palavras semanticamente relacionadas, e uma avaliação do nível de certeza. Os resultados mostraram que o autoconceito mnemônico não influencia taxas de recordação verdadeira e falsa, mas algumas particularidades entre os sexos para níveis de ansiedade, taxa de recordação e sensibilidade em reconhecimento foram observadas. Além disso, embora participantes apresentassem alta confiança sobre palavras falsamente recordadas, observou-se menor nível de certeza global para palavras não estudadas. Após controlar fatores emocionais e de inteligência, sugere-se que o autoconceito mnemônico possa estar mais relacionado com o estado emocional da pessoa do que com o desempenho objetivo da memória.The processes of remembering facts and events of life do not occur in an integral way, and often people not only forget information but also distort and create memories that are not experienced, producing a phenomenon known as false memories. Despite this, people are also naturally given to evaluate their own memory and create strategies that influence their performance and mnemonic self-concept, a cognitive attribute known as metamemory. It is well documented that metacognitive judgments may vary in memory tasks, but little is known about the relationship between the general mnemonic self-concept of young adults and the performance for hits and intrusions in recall and recognition tasks, as well as whether confidence can predict accuracy and intrusions in memory tasks. The present study presents two articles: the first one is a procedure for constructing and evaluating semantically related lists of words for Brazilian Portuguese, based on the Deese-Roediger-McDermott (DRM) paradigm, a model composed of recall and recognition tasks that studies false memories; the second is a study of the relations between mnemonic self-concept, judgments of confidence and performance for true and false memories. In this study, 79 participants of both sexes, with higher education and intelligence between medium to high were tested through a prospective and retrospective memory questionnaire, an affective-emotional scale, a semantically related word recall and recognition test, and an assessment of the level of certainty. The results showed that the mnemonic selfconcept does not influence true and false recall rates, but some differences between the sexes for levels of anxiety, recall rate and recognition sensitivity were observed. In addition, although participants had high confidence about falsely remembered words, a lower level of overall certainty was observed for words not studied.
