Resumo: This article seeks to comprehend Carl Gustav Hempel’s conception of scientific knowledge through his academic trajectory and a partial exegesis of his work. It addresses specifically a description of Hempel’s reflection on the logic of the scientificity of knowledge as a result of the adoption of scientific validity criteria conceived in the Nineteenth century. That allow us to observe that, according to Hempel, scientific reason would admit varying degrees of significance that depends on belonging to empirical or non-empirical theoretical systems. Thereby, there would be different degrees of empirical possibility between natural science and historical science, but this gradation, argues Hempel, would be within a methodological unit for all areas of science.
