Resumo: This article is a contribution to the debate on the relationships between historiographical thought, race and society in Brazil. Considering the fact that the names legitimized as the canon of the Brazilian Historiography are constituted primarily by White Men, an ethnic-racial – and of gender – demarcation that has been reproduced over time, I intend to establish some theoretical premises for the suggestion of a decolonization of the historiographical field. Such a view seeks to problematize the production of Black Intellectuals and of other non-hegemonic social groups in general into the body of legitimized knowledge about Brazilian historical reality in its relations with social categories of difference, especially race, since it has constituted and structured Brazilian Historiography itself. Finally, I try to think, based on Roger Bastide, in the exercise of an intellectual self-analysis, concerning the role and the position of White historians in the critical reflection and reconstruction of the field.

A partir da constatação de que os nomes legitimados como cânones da Historiografia Brasileira são compostos primariamente por homens brancos, demarcação étnicorracial – e de gênero – que tem se reproduzido ao longo do tempo, procuro estabelecer algumas premissas teóricas para a sugestão de uma descolonização do campo historiográfico. Tal visão busca problematizar a produção de intelectuais negros – e de grupos sociais não hegemônicos de forma geral – no corpo de conhecimentos autorizados acerca da realidade histórica brasileira em suas conexões com marcadores sociais da diferença, especialmente raça, posto ser esta uma questão constituinte e estruturante da própria Historiografia Brasileira.
