Resumo: | AbstractThe transforming growth factor-? (TGF-?), a mediator of prostatic growth induces angiogenesis andinhibits cell proliferation. It was used in this study in order to evaluate its expression in normalprostatic tissue and those with benign proliferative lesions, pre-malignant and malignant prostaticdiseases. A total of 54 glands with normal histomorphology, epithelial benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH), stromal BPH, prostatic inflammatory atrophy (PIA), prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN),and adenocarcinoma were selected and used in the tissue microarray block (TMA). The TMA slideswere subjected to the immunohistochemistry with anti-TGF-? and its staining intensity in epithelialand stromal cells was evaluated. There was TGF-? immunostaining by both normal tissues and those with proliferative lesions. Higher TGF-? immunostaining was observed in cells from normalprostatic tissues and with HPB, whereas prostatic cells with PIA, PIN and carcinoma exhibited lowerimmunostaining of this cytokine, suggesting the action of TGF-? in the maintenance of normaltissue homeostasis and with benign proliferative lesion and in the progression of pre-malignant andmalignant proliferative lesions of the canine prostate. Keywords: carcinoma, immunohistochemistry, growth factor, PIA, PIN. |

Palavras-chave: carcinoma, fator de crescimento, imunoistoquímica, PIA, PIN.Universidade Federal de Goiás2019-07-26info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/htmlhttps://revistas.ufg.br/vet/article/view/34543Brazilian Animal Science/ Ciência Animal Brasileira; Vol. 20 (2019): Continuous publication; 1-10Ciência Animal Brasileira / Brazilian Animal Science; v. 20 (2019): Publicação contínua; 1-101809-68911518-2797reponame:Ciência animal brasileira (Online)instname:Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG)instacron:UFGporhttps://revistas.ufg.br/vet/article/view/34543/33376https://revistas.ufg.br/vet/article/view/34543/33377Copyright (c) 2019 Ciência Animal Brasileirainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessToledo, Denise CarolineFaleiro, Mariana Batista RodriguesFerreira, Hugo HenriqueFaria, Adriana MarquesMatos, Moema Pacheco ChediakAmorim, Renee LauferDe Moura, Veridiana Maria Brianezi Dignani2023-03-23T18:49:21Zoai:ojs.revistas.ufg.br:article/34543Revistahttps://revistas.ufg.br/vetPUBhttps://revistas.ufg.br/vet/oai||revistacab@gmail.com1809-68911518-2797opendoar:2023-03-23T18:49:21Ciência animal brasileira (Online) - Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG)false |
