Resumo: This article intends on reflecting on the feeling of love in the work of António Jacinto, starting from one of his most well-known poems, “a letter from na engaged man”, showing how in his poetics this feeling is analyzed, strictly connected with the idea of longing and the simultaneous sensations of confort and disconfort. The theoretical basis is Octavio Paz, Jose Ortega e Gasset, Gaston Bachelard e Roland Barthes.
