Resumo: This study analyzed the arboreal specie Eriotheca pubescens ( Mart. Former Zucc.) Schoutt & Endler. The main objective was to evaluate whether the seed’s performance, seedling production and field`s plantation, through direct sowing, with and without physical protection to develop the recovery of a degraded area that was explored as a gravel mine, at Água Limpa farm, from UnB (University of Brasilia – Brazil). The specie studied indicated that the seeds have neutral photoblastism and about 5.85% of humidity. The laboratory study indicated vermiculite as the most successfully substratum associated with no shading and temperature condition of 25ºC (77 F). The germination percentage increased after 171 days, indicating a great survival index. There was about 76.5% of survival seedlings that were planted in the field. The specie Eriotheca pubescens has a great potential to be used for restoring degraded areas, especially at the heterogeneous plantation.

Ex. Zucc.) Schott & Endler. (Bombacaceae), nos aspectos referentes à tecnologia de sementes, produção de mudas e seu plantio no campo, juntamente com a semeadura direta, com ou sem protetor físico de germinação, na recuperação de área degradada por mineração, em uma cascalheira abandonada, localizada na Fazenda Água Limpa, da Universidade de Brasília. A espécie apresenta sementes com teor de água de 5,85% e 6.280 por quilo. Para os testes de germinação em laboratório, o substrato mais indicado foi a vermiculita, em condição de luz e de temperatura de 25 °C. No viveiro, os substratos e as intensidades de iluminação testados não interferiram na germinação e no desenvolvimento das mudas. Contudo, a espécie mostrou melhor desempenho em altura, quando se utilizou substrato contendo terra de subsolo, areia e superfosfato na condição de 0% de sombreamento. No campo, a presença do protetor físico aumentou o percentual de germinação em 43,8% e apresentou, após 171 dias, 59,4% de sobrevivência, enquanto as plantas sem o protetor físico apresentaram 10% de sobrevivência. As mudas plantadas no campo apresentaram, em média, 76,5% de sobrevivência.
