Resumo: This research established models for the construction of plans of binomial sequential sampling for the tan-mite Dichopelmus notus Keifer (Acari, Eriophyidae) in mate-tea orchards. The study was carried out in a ten years old orchard, located in Chapecó, Santa Catarina state, Brazil. In three areas of approximately 2,500 m2, 30 plants had been selected randomly. Fortnightly, from January to December, 2004, infestation of D. notus in 18 mature leaves of ten plants in each area were evaluated. The evaluations were executed directly in the orchard, using lenses (10x) and 1 cm2 of fixed field. The lines of the sequential plans were constructed using the methodology based on the confidence interval of Iwao (1975), considering the models of Normal Approach with Correction of Continuity, Normal Approach of Blyth (1986), Approach of Hall (1982) modified by Blyth (1986), Normal Approach of Molenaar (1973), Normal Approach of Pratt (1968) and Leemis & Trivedi (1996) methodology. The models were evaluated considering amplitude analysis of the confidence intervals. The results had evidenced that the Model of Normal Approach with Correction of Continuity must preferentiably be used in the elaboration of plans of binomial sequential sampling for the tan-mite in mate-tea orchards.

O estudo foi conduzido no município de Chapecó, SC, em um erval de dez anos. Em três áreas de aproximadamente 2.500 m2 foram selecionadas 30 plantas, sendo avaliada a infestação do acarino quinzenalmente, no período de janeiro a dezembro de 2004. Foram observadas 18 folhas maduras de dez plantas escolhidas ao acaso em cada área. As inspeções foram executadas diretamente nos ervais utilizando lentes com aumento de dez vezes e 1 cm2 de campo fixo. As linhas dos planos seqüenciais foram construídas utilizando a metodologia baseada no intervalo de confiança de Iwao (1975), tendo como base os modelos de Aproximação Normal com Correção de Continuida, Aproximação Normal de Blyth (1986), Aproximação de Hall (1982) modificado por Blyth (1986), Aproximação Normal de Molenaar (1973), Aproximação Normal de Pratt (1968) e a metodologia de Leemis & Trivedi (1996). Os modelos foram avaliados por meio de análise da amplitude dos intervalos de confiança.
