ELITISM OF THE MINEIRÃO STADIUM? ANALYSIS FROM THE SOCIAL ORIGIN OF THE FANS

Resumo: | This study aims to identify the social origin of the resident football fans in Belo Horizonte and who attended the Mineirão Stadium during the State Championship of the year 2013. Reflecting on the changes which fans have been submitted in their leisure time is pressing for the establishment of a critical position to face the recent commoditization of events of Brazilian football. This is a qualitative descriptive exploratory study. The field research took place at Mineirão Stadium during games of the State Championship 2013. It was found that the Mineirão stadium after the remodelling, remains a space of diversity, despite of its managers priorization of a niche market people with power consumption. This leads to the exclusion of those who neither meet this requirement nor have the appropriate behaviors which the process of change brings. The data also help to question the use of elitism term, understanding it more as a marker of perception created by the withdrawal/reduction of a specific public in the stadium than by the presence of what is considered "the one most distinguished in a group". |

Reflexionar sobre los cambios a los que los aficionados han sido presentados en su tiempo libre contribuye para el establecimiento de una crítica al proceso de comoditización del fútbol brasileño. Se trata de un estudio cualitativo de tipo descriptivo exploratorio . La investigación de campo se llevó a cabo en el Estadio Mineirão durante los partidos del Campeonato Mineiro 2013. Se encontró que el estadio Mineirão, después de la reforma, sigue siendo un espacio de la diversidad, a pesar de sus gerentes priorizaren un grupo con grande capacidad de consumo, lo que lleva, sí, la exclusión de aquellos que no cumplen con este requisito y ni tienen los comportamientos adecuados a lo que trae el proceso de cambio. Los datos también ayudan a cuestionar el uso del término elitismo, la comprensión de que es más como un marcador de la percepción creada por la retirada/reducción de un estadio pública específica que sí por la presencia de lo que se considera el "más distinguido de un grupo”.Esse estudo objetiva identificar a origem social dos torcedores de futebol residentes em Belo Horizonte e que frequentaram o Estádio Mineirão durante o Campeonato Mineiro do ano de 2013. Refletir sobre as mudanças às quais os torcedores vêm sendo submetidos em seu momento de lazer é premente para a constituição de uma posição crítica frente aos recentes acontecimentos de comoditização do futebol brasileiro. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa do tipo exploratória descritiva. A pesquisa de campo ocorreu no Estádio Mineirão durante os jogos do Campeonato Mineiro de 2013. Verificou-se que o estádio Mineirão, após a reforma, continua sendo um espaço de diversidade, apesar dos seus gestores, priorizarem como nicho de mercado as pessoas com poder de consumo, acarretando, sim, na exclusão daqueles que não atendem a essa exigência e nem possuem os comportamentos adequados àquilo que o processo de mudança traz.
