Knowledge of professional nursing on ileostomy, in primary care

Resumo: This was an exploratory study with a qualitative approach that aimed to identify the knowledge of nurses on ileostomy of Family Health Teams (FHT) of the Health District of Uberaba that described the perception of nurses on the nursing care with definitive stoma patient. After approval from the Research Ethics Committee, data were collected with 16 nurses, through semi-structured interviews. Thematic content analysis proposed by Bardin was used. Most were female (93.75%), single (56.25%), with 1 to 5 years of study in nursing and had worked in the FHT 1-5 years. The age range was 25 to 45 years. In the data analysis revealed three categories: proper knowledge, inadequate or absent in relation to its possible complications ileostomy care and approach to patients with definitive stoma. One must consider that from the knowledge received by nurses in undergraduate and /or professional practice, enables the development of actions aimed at efforts to improve the quality of life of these patients, as well as empowering professionals assistance to perform actions based on scientific knowledge, against the backdrop of the specialized assistance and systematized.

Después de la apobación por el Comité de Ética em la Investigacion los datos fueron recolectados de 16 enfermeras a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas. Fue utilizado la técnica de análisis de contenido propuesto por Bardin. La mayoría eran mujeres (93,75%), solteros (56,25%), con 1-5 años de formación en enfermería y había trabajado en el FSE 1-5 años. El rango de edad fue de 25 a 45 años. En el análisis de datos reveló tres categorías: el conocimiento adecuado, inadecuado o inexistente en relación con sus posibles complicaciones de atención ileostomía y el enfoque a los pacientes con estoma definitivo. Hay que considerar que a partir de los conocimientos adquiridos por los enfermeros en pregrado y /o práctica profesional, permite el desarrollo de acciones dirigidas a los esfuerzos para mejorar la calidad de vida de estos pacientes, así como profesionales de la potenciación asistencia para llevar a cabo acciones basadas en el conocimiento científico, en el contexto de la asistencia especializada y sistematizada.Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa, cujo objetivo foi identificar o conhecimento dos profissionais enfermeiros sobre ileostomia das Equipes de Saúde da Família (ESFs) do Distrito Sanitário I de Uberaba e descrever a percepção dos profissionais enfermeiros sobre os cuidados de enfermagem com o paciente ileostomizado. Após aprovação pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa, os dados foram coletados com 16 enfermeiros, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Utilizou-se a técnica de análise de conteúdo proposto por Bardin. Os enfermeiros, em sua maioria, eram do sexo feminino (93,75%), solteiros (56,25%), com um, a cinco anos de formação na enfermagem e com tempo de trabalho na ESF de um a cinco anos. A variação de idade foi 25 a 45 anos. Da análise dos dados, emergiram três categorias: conhecimento adequado, insuficiente e ausente em relação às ileostomias, suas possíveis complicações aos cuidados e a abordagem ao paciente ileostomizado.
