Resumo: Due to the advances in health care technology, many children become technology-dependent and are taken care of by their families at home. Using the oral history method, this study had the objective of understanding the experience of families with children in this situation. After analyzing interviews with seven families, three themes stood out: Turning into a care specialist, Transforming family space and Caring with limited resources. The results showed the impact of the child's dependency on the family and the impact of the internal and external family structure on the care received by the child.

El objeto de este estudio fue comprender la experiencia de las familias que tienen niños dependientes de la tecnología. Como método de investigación se utilizó la historia oral. Después del análisis de las entrevistas con siete familias, se definieron tres temas: Volviéndose especialista en el cuidado, Transformando el espacio de la familia y Cuidando con recursos limitados. Los resultados permitieron comprender el impacto de la condición de la dependencia del niño sobre la familia y el impacto de la estructura familiar interna y externa sobre el cuidado que recibe el niño.Devido aos avanços tecnológicos em saúde, muitas crianças tornam-se dependentes de tecnologia e são cuidadas pelas famílias no domicílio. Usando a metodologia da História Oral, este estudo teve como objetivo compreender a experiência das famílias que possuem crianças dependentes de tecnologia. Após a análise das entrevistas realizadas com sete famílias, encontraram-se três temas: Tornando-se especialista no cuidado, Transformando o espaço da família e Cuidando com recursos limitados.
