Professional ethics: the view of students from a technical nursing course

Resumo: This is a qualitative study, according to the Modality of the Structure of Situated Phenomenon, seeking to understand students´ views of professional ethics on a technical nursing course. It included ideographic and nomothetic analyses, which led to the conclusion that most of the students believe that professional ethics is limited to following the code of ethics and the law. Because of the importance of professional ethics in the training of nursing technicians, we believe this issue needs to be reformulated giving it a greater scope.

Because of the importance of professional ethics in the training of nursing technicians, we believe this issue needs to be reformulated giving it a greater scope.Se trata de un estudio cualitativo según la modalidad Estructura del Fenómeno Establecido, cuyo propósito es comprender la concepción de ética profesional por parte de alumnos de cursos de enfermería de una escuela técnica profesional. El análisis ideográfico y el nomotético han permitido certificarse de que, en general, piensan que ética profesional es respetar el código de ética profesional y la legislación corriente. Con el resultado creemos que puede ser viable efectuar una nueva evaluación de la Ética Profesional en los cursos técnicos de enfermería buscando, así, enfocar mejor este tema.Este é um estudo qualitativo, segundo a Modalidade da Estrutura do Fenômeno Situado, teve como propósito compreender a concepção de ética profissional de alunos de cursos técnicos de enfermagem de uma escola técnica profissionalizante. O estudo foi realizado em dois momentos: análise ideográfica e nomotética. A Análise realizada nos permitiu verificar que, a maior parte dos sujeitos acreditam que ética profissional se resume em respeitar o código de ética profissional e a legislação vigente.
