FEMINIST AND ANTI-RACIST PEDAGOGY: NOTES ON SPORTS PRACTICES AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT IN THE FAVELA

Resumo: Girls and young women, mostly black, live in vulnerable conditions in favelas, deprived of access to rights, victims of violence and oppression intersected and forged in the cisheteronormative, capitalist, patriarchal and racist matrix. To prevent and eliminate gender-based violence, the One Victory Leads to Another Program (UVLO) - girls empowered by sport - aims to promote the empowerment of this portion of the population. This qualitative study was developed in Cidade de Deus, Rio de Janeiro, according to the assumptions of Anthropology on Demand, through ethnographic listening, participant observation, semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis. We describe how the UVLO curriculum subjects participants in terms of empowerment through the use of feminist, anti-racist and multiliterate pedagogy. Active listening and finding voices in a safe environment, combined with experiences with sport, body practices and other languages, effectively contribute to the process of empowerment in the cognitive, psychological and political dimensions.

Para prevenir y eliminar laviolencia de género, el programa Una victorialleva a otra (UVLO), niñas empoderadas por el deporte, tiene como objetivo promover elempoderamiento de esta parte de lapoblación. Este estudiocualitativo se desarrollóen Cidade de Deus, Río de Janeiro, segúnlospresupuestos de laAntropología a la Demanda, a través de escucha etnográfica, observación participante, entrevistas semiestructuradas y análisis documental. Describimoscómoelplan de estudios de la UVLO somete a los participantes en términos de empoderamiento mediante el uso de una pedagogía feminista, antirracista y multialfabetizada. La escuchaactiva y labúsqueda de vocesenun entorno seguro, combinadas con experiencias conel deporte, prácticascorporales y otroslenguajes, contribuyen eficazmente al proceso de empoderamientoenlas dimensiones cognitiva, psicológica y política.Meninas e jovens mulheres majoritariamente negras, vivem em condições vulneráveis nas favelas, com privação de acesso a direitos, vítimas de violências e opressões interseccionadas e forjadas na matriz cisheteronormativa, capitalista, patriarcal e racista. Para prevenção e eliminaçãodas violências de gênero, o Programa Uma Vitória Leva à Outra (UVLO) - meninas empoderadas pelo esporte – visa promover o empoderamento dessa parcela da população. Este estudo qualitativo foi desenvolvido na Cidade de Deus, Rio de Janeiro, segundo os pressupostos da Antropologia por Demanda, por meio de escuta etnográfica, observação participante, entrevistas semiestruturadas e análise documental. Descrevemos como o currículo do UVLO subjetiva as participantes no tocante ao empoderamento mediante uso da pedagogia feminista, antirracista e multiletrada.
