The application process for a job is important to understand the job descriptions for the position you intend to apply for, including the necessary skills, qualifications, and competencies. The alignment in between your resume with the job description makes the candidate more competitive in the selection process. Therefore, the following work focuses on the analysis and description of a production engineering position with the aim of classifying the competencies, requirements, activities, and market areas that stand out the most for available production engineer positions. The Iramuteq software generated graphs based on job descriptions collected from recruitment websites that were analyzed. The results primarily indicate that the candidate should have good communication skills and understanding of processes, and that skills with tools and languages are often developed through the company's own programs. Additionally, the areas with the most opportunities are Operations and Production Processes Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, Organizational Engineering, and Economic Engineering.
