DINÂMICAS AGROECOLÓGICAS DE RECRIAÇÃO DA VIDA CAMPONESA NO ASSENTAMENTO 20 DE MARÇO, EM TRÊS LAGOAS/MS

Agrarian reform is the public policy that allows the landless peasant the possibility of social reproduction of the household group through peasant agriculture. Peasant agriculture is agriculture that most closely resembles agroecology because its sustainabilty practices are inherent to the peasant way of life, which regards the land as “home for life”, different from capitalist agriculture. In this sense, agroecology is a way of preserving a way of life linked to peasant economy, whose core is the recreation of the life of the household group, not profit. The challenge in this study is to learn agroecological dynamics of recreating peasant life in the “20 de Março” settlement in Três Lagoas, specially considering the fundamental practical, scientific and movement dimensions of agroecology. This study focused on the search for the articulation of theory with empirics in the form of a theoretical review, the use of oral sources, and photographic records. This research finds meaning in the understanding that academic work is a way to contribute to the strengthening of the peasants” struggle for both access to and permanence on the land of life and work. We also understand that activating the peasant way of life makes the construction of the agroecological peasant agriculture possible, which is the one capable of generating food without creating social and environmental problems. Therefore, we must listen to the peasants” stories on recreating life so we can learn agroecological principles and methods. This scientific text was divided into an introduction, in which the dissertation is presented in general lines, highlighting the structuring pillars of each chapter; chapter I debates the difference between the construction of scientific knowledge for capitalism and for alternative practices; chapter II presents the agrarian theory, as well as the social function of land related to agroecology as an endogenous potentiator of peasant autonomy and in favor of the common good; in chapter III, we deal with the elements of family economy and the peasant way of life from agroecological paths built in PA 20 de Março; and the conclusion, which summarizes the previous chapters, where we seek to highlight the potentialities of recreating agroecological peasant agriculture.
