Comunicação em museus: uma proposta para seção de paleontologia do Museu de História Natural do Araguaia

Paleontology is the science that studies the remains or vestiges of primitive life and, although it is a multidisciplinary area of knowledge, its dissemination is still a challenge, since there is a scarcity and difficult access to content and / or teaching resources related to the teaching of this science both in formal educational spaces (schools) and in non-formal spaces (museums). In this sense, we aimed to develop an educational booklet to contribute to the scientific dissemination of the paleontological collection of the Araguaia Museum of Natural History (MuHNA), Mato Grasso Federal University, Araguaia University Campus. To this end, we developed the work incorporating an action-research methodological approach and the elaboration of the booklet was carried out using a design creation platform called Canva. To create the booklet we followed four steps: (i) survey of the paleontological collection, (ii) delineation of the content of the booklet, (iii) theoretical foundation and, (iv) structuring of the booklet. As a result, the booklet is entitled "The Fossils of MuHNA - Museu de História Natural do Araguaia" and consists of 29 pages, with text and illustrations. Fonts and titles were used in a variety of ways according to textual elements and levels of titles. The booklet has a colorful and interactive loyauty, to hold the reader's attention. The brown color used in the booklet refers to the visual identity already used by the Museum and the mascots used in the questioning strips are the mascots that represent MuHNA. The language used is an intermediary language, with the aim of reaching both the lay public and the public that has academic scientific knowledge. As it is a resource developed for educational purposes, we hope that the booklet can be implemented both in the museum space and as a complementary resource to divulge paleontological science in formal education spaces.
