Resumo: Background: Research shows symptoms of depression and anxiety among nursing students, which through expectations, uncertainties and challenges throughout the course, still coexist with the stressful condition related to the patient. It is through this context that help is sought, and the use of psychotropic drugs is frequent at this time. Objective: To evaluate the sociodemographic profile and the use of antidepressants and anxiolytics by students of the Nursing course. Methodology: Quantitative, exploratory and descriptive research. A questionnaire containing questions on the sociodemographic profile and the use of antidepressants and anxiolytics was used as an instrument. Results: Seventy-nine students were interviewed, and of these, 13 (16.4%) claimed to use antidepressants and/or anxiolytics. Conclusion: There is a need for measures aimed at welcoming and listening to nursing students regarding depressive and anxiety disorders and the rational and safe use of psychoactive drugs, minimizing mental suffering and the consequences of inappropriate use of psychotropic drugs

Mediante este contexto ocorre a busca por ajuda, sendo frequente nesse momento o início do uso de psicofármacos. Objetivo: Avaliar o perfil sociodemográfico e uso de antidepressivos e ansiolíticos por acadêmicos do curso de Enfermagem. Metodologia: Pesquisa quantitativa, exploratória e descritiva. Utilizou-se como instrumento um questionário contendo perguntas sobre o perfil sociodemográfico e uso de antidepressivos e ansiolíticos. Resultados: Foram entrevistados 79 alunos e destes, 13 (16,4%) afirmaram fazer uso de antidepressivos e/ou ansiolíticos.
