Resumo: This work aims to analyze the development, usage, and evaluation of a card game designed as a tool for teaching and learning of cellular structures, such as the organelles, both of animal and vegetal cells. The game was applied to thirty 8th graders, from a public school from Timon – MA. Data was collected through the researcher’s observations and tests applied before and after the game was used, as well as a closed questions survey applied to the students in order they would evaluate the game themselves. The test which was applied before the students could play the game took place after the theoretical classes, when students learned the concepts of eukaryotic cells. The second test took place after the game was played by the students. The results show that the game allowed students to develop abilities in recognizing and comprehending the types of eukaryotic cells, their structures, and their related organelles, as well as their functions. The game facilitated the students’ learning process of cytology content, explored during the classes, providing them the opportunity of comprehending, reasoning, and building the knowledge of a content often considered difficult to be learned in a pleasant and amusing way.
