In this master’s thesis a historical survey was made of the master theses produced in the Professional Master’s Program in Mathematics - PROFMAT, from the year 2013 to 2018, which investigate the topic Trigonometry. From this process of bibliographical survey, 134 master theses emerged, classified in two sub-themes: conceptual approach and application approach. This survey served as a theoretical support to analyze the results achieved in the teaching of trigonometry in the classroom, using the various methodological tools. The work that points out the challenges of teaching has been evidenced. In this way, the objective is to approach the teaching of trigonometry through mathematical modeling, with the purpose of enriching and fostering the field of investigation, as well as the syste- matization of ideas and concepts. In addition, it is important to promote the role of the teacher in a more dynamic and comprehensive teaching, seeking to apply Mathematics in aspects that enable the student to think real situations, contextualize the complexities and be able to perceive themselves while building their own knowledge. It presents a tea- ching proposal that, through an experiment, analyzes small amplitudes of the movement of a simple pendulum, in a real situation, in which the contextualization of a problem situation is made for the teaching of mathematical contents, specifically trigonometric.
