Body Pride in the perspective of consumption: a panorama of studies on the Fat Pride Movement in the world

In recent decades, the number of overweight and/or obese people has increased worldwide. This made these people begin to have greater representation and social visibility in the various media. Despite this, few studies on this world movement are still under the watch of consumption. Thus, this work seeks to present a general overview of academic intellectual production on the fat pride movement in the world, based on bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review, in order to contribute to the development of the theme. For this, articles, theses and dissertations were found in ten databases: Digital Thesis and Dissertation Bank, Capes Thesis and Dissertation Catalog, EBSCO host, Google Scholar, Capes Journals, ProQuest, Scielo, Scopus, Spell and Springer. The results pointed out that the theme is still incipient and needs further research in the scientific literature, with a greater number of publications and involvement of institutions and authors in the United States. In addition, there are few quantitative studies and the extreme majority of published work is restricted to the female view in the movement of body pride and consumption, disregarding the issue of the fat man as a potential consumer.
