Resumo: RESUMO: O presente trabalho busca interpretar o paleoambiente com o qual conviveram os grupos de pescadores-coletores que habitaram o Sambaqui do Recreio entre 3.540 ± 50 A.P. e 3.350 ± 50 A.P. Através da utilização do georadar, associado a um modelo evolutivo paleogeográfico, foi possível identificar a ocorrência de uma pequena lagoa atualmente soterrada nas imediações do sambaqui, denotando profundas diferenças entre os ambientes do passado e a paisagem atual. ABSTRACT: This work aim to interpret the palaeoenvironment where fisher-gatherer people of Sambaqui do Recreio had inhabited between 3.549 ± 50 B.P and 3.350 ± 50 B.P. Using the Ground Penetrating Radar associated with a palaeogeographic model it is possible to identify a small lake surrounding the site, denoting great differences between the ancient and present landscape.
