Como alternativa a esses desafios, a pesquisa defende as abordagens centradas no estudante, tendo o PBL (Problem-Based Learning) como exemplo mais forte. PBL é adequado para Computação porque promove uma formação orientada à prática e desenvolvimento de competências demandadas pelos perfis profissionais do mercado de trabalho. Implementar o processo de ensino com PBL não é uma tarefa trivial e depende de esforços de uma equipe pedagógica com papéis específicos, além do professor. Na prática, a equipe pedagógica precisa planejar adequadamente o processo aos objetivos educacionais, conduzir sua execução em conformidade com os princípios PBL, acompanhar e verificar os resultados de aprendizagem do estudante, além de manter a qualidade da execução do processo. Diante desse contexto, a pesquisa tem como objetivo sistematizar a implementação e a gestão do processo de ensino e aprendizagem na abordagem PBL para o ensino em Computação, por meio de um framework conceitual, denominado “Framework By-Cycles”. Fundamentado em modelos e técnicas de gestão, o By-Cycles é composto por etapas baseadas no ciclo PDCA (Plan – Do – Check – Act), com componentes metodológicos que apoiam a operacionalização das etapas. A pesquisa foi conduzida pelo método Design Science Research (DSR), em ciclos de Design e de Engenharia. O By-Cycles foi aplicado em contextos reais e sua efetividade foi avaliada sob o rigor e relevância, inerente à estratégia “Risco Humano e Eficácia” do modelo FEDS (Venable, Heje e Baskerville, 2016). Com o estudo de caso, evidências destacam que o framework permite que a equipe pedagógica conduza o processo de ensino e aprendizagem em PBL de forma controlada e rigorosa e sua estrutura promove a qualidade do processo de ensino e aprendizagem pela gestão e aderência aos princípios PBL.This research is inserted in the context of the teaching of Computing and has as motivation the challenges of the traditional teaching and learning process: teacher-centered, technical development and conceptual learning oriented training. As an alternative to these challenges, the research advocates student-centered approaches, with PBL (Problem-Based Learning) as the strongest example. PBL is suitable for Computing because it promotes practice-oriented training and development of competencies demanded by the professional profiles of the job Market. Implementing the teaching process with PBL is not a trivial task and it depends on the efforts of a pedagogical team with specific roles, in addition to the teacher. In practice, the pedagogical team needs to properly plan the process for educational objectives, conduct its implementation in accordance with PBL principles, monitor and verify student learning outcomes, and maintain the quality of process execution. In this context, the research aims to systematize the implementation and management of the teaching and learning process in the PBL approach to Computing teaching, through a conceptual framework, called "By-Cycles Framework". Based on management models and techniques, By-Cycles is composed of steps based on the PDCA (Plan – Do – Check – Act) cycle, with methodological components that support the operationalization of the stages. The research was conducted by the Design Science Research (DSR) method, in Design and Engineering cycles. By-Cycles was applied in real contexts and its effectiveness was evaluated under the rigor and relevance inherent to the "Human Risk and Efficacy" strategy of the FEDS model (Venable, Heje and Baskerville, 2016).
