Resumo: Qualitative research developed at a Primary Health Care Unit located in Betim (MG). This investigationaimed to discuss Mental Health in the Primary Health Care as the articulation between the principles of the National HealthSystem and the Psychiatric Reform. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview as well as participant observationand analyzed through the technique of the Discourse of the Collective Subject. The principles of the National HealthSystem and Psychiatric Reform are achieved through actions of individual care, mental health care delivery, home visit,case discussion, craftsmanship workshop developed in Primary Health Care and strategies adopted for participation andqualification of Community Health Agents, collective welcoming, subjective expression of the team and involvement offamily/community.

Oobjetivo desta investigação foi discutir a Saúde Mental na Atenção Básica como articulação entre os princípios do SistemaÚnico de Saúde e da Reforma Psiquiátrica. Os dados foram coletados através de entrevista semi-estruturada e observaçãoparticipante e analisados pela técnica do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. Os princípios do Sistema Único de Saúde e daReforma Psiquiátrica são efetivados através das ações de atendimento individual, recepção da saúde mental, visitadomiciliar, discussão de caso e oficinas de trabalhos manuais desenvolvidas na Atenção Básica e das estratégias adotadasde participação e capacitação dos Agentes Comunitários de Saúde, acolhimento coletivo, expressão subjetiva da equipee envolvimento da família/comunidade.Investigación de carácter cualitativo desarrollada en unidad básica de salud ubicada en Betim (MG). Losdatos fueron recolectados a través de entrevista semiestructurada y observación participante y analizados por la técnicadel sujeto colectivo. El objetivo de esta investigación fue examinar la Salud Mental en Atención Primaria como un vínculoentre los principios del Sistema Único de Salud y Reforma Psiquiátrica.
