Resumo: This study aims to collect national literature articles on the theme: nursing shift change, emphasizing the main aspects addressed. A literature review was carried out manually and on the internet with 11 nursing journals published from 1996 until 2006. Eight articles about this theme were found and the main aspects approached were: concept, information type, used modality, hindering factors, and responsibility. The results lead us to think over the need for communication-skilled professionals, able to sensitize their teams on the relevance of this activity, and able to create alternative and efficient ways to get across consistent and qualified information during shift change.

Este estudio buscó reunir lo que ha sido hecho en la literatura nacional en últimos 10 años en artículos acerca de pasaje de guardia, dando énfasis a aspectos principales involucrados con el tema. Una revisión de la literatura fue conducida con publicaciones en periódicos y por el Internet con 11 periódicos publicados entre 1996 y 2006. Se encontraron ocho artículos sobre este tema y los aspectos principales fueran: el concepto, el tipo de información, la modalidad usada, factores que interfieren y responsabilidad. El pasaje de guardia lleva a pensar acerca de la necesidad de profesionales con habilidades de comunicación y de despertar sus equipos sobre la relevancia de esa actividad y capaces de crear alternativas y maneras eficaces a la transferencia de información consistente y de cualidad.Este estudo tem por objetivo fazer um levantamento do que tem sido produzido na literatura nacional sobre a temática passagem de plantão na enfermagem e destacar os principais aspectos abordados. Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura em 11 periódicos de Enfermagem no período de 1996 a 2006, por meio de busca eletrônica e manual. Foram encontrados 8 artigos sobre o tema e os principais aspectos abordados foram: conceito, tipo de informação, modalidade utilizada, fatores que interferem e responsabilidade.
