Resumo: On August of 1572, Paris lived a bloody moment in it’s history : “The Saint Bartholomew’s Massacre”, as had been known the event, refers to the murder of thousands of huguenots in the streets of the city, ordered by the french royal family. One more episode of the religious wars that divided France in the XVI century, the massacre would be, in the next century, praised by authors of the reason of State. In this path, Gabriel Naudé, on Considérations politiques sur les coups-d'état (1639), laud the coup that motivated the action, glorifying it as a necessary action of the french government. Discuss Naudé’s apology to the massacre, and search on it the influence of Niccolò Machiavelli over the author is the objetive of our work.

Discuss Naudé’s apology to the massacre, and search on it the influence of Niccolò Machiavelli over the author is the objetive of our work.
