Resumo: This paper demonstrates a possible relationship between the recorded material culture in the archaeological area of Seridó - RN/PB, with the described material culture of a ethnohistorical or protohistoric group, which inhabited the Potiguar Seridó, since ancient times – more than 7000 B. P., according to linguistic data – until the second half of the Seventeenth Century (XVII): the Tarairiú. This researching proposal proves been viable by the spatial relationship observed between etnohistóricos data and the archaeological record identified in the Seridó region.
