Resumo: The first non-fictional narratives with moving images about historical events constructed in Brazil were permeated by the relationship between politics and ideology. The analysis of 106 newsreels produced in the Vargas Era gathered on the Arquivo Nacional YouTube channel reveals how the use of visuality and sound in these pioneering forms of reality composition in the Estado Novo regime affected the conformation of the grammar of television news since the 1950s. This work signals that the boundaries between discursive genres that operate translations of the real are tenuous and porous since the construction of the first informative audiovisual texts in the country.

Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul2022-10-25info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionpesquisa exploratória e revisão bibliográficaapplication/pdfhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/intexto/article/view/11065410.19132/1807-8583202253.110654Intexto; No. 53 (2022); 110654Intexto; Núm. 53 (2022); 110654Intexto; No. 53 (2022); 110654Intexto; N. 53 (2022); 110654Intexto; n. 53 (2022); 1106541807-8583reponame:Intexto (Porto Alegre)instname:Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)instacron:UFRGSporhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/intexto/article/view/110654/86360Copyright (c) 2022 Beatriz Beckerhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBecker, Beatriz2023-07-17T18:20:51Zoai:seer.ufrgs.br:article/110654Revistahttp://seer.ufrgs.br/intextoONGhttp://seer.ufrgs.br/intexto/oai||intexto@ufrgs.br1807-85831807-8583opendoar:2023-07-17T18:20:51Intexto (Porto Alegre) - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)false
