Resumo: The sociological phenomenon is not limited to the study of Sociology, as an applied area of the Human Sciences. This work will question the fragility of the classical technicist conception of Sociology. Their essential questionability will be represented, where to ask is, always, to see the possibilities of answer. It will be analyzed to what extent Gadamer's hermeneutics may serve the sociological scope, questioning the overvaluation of technique and the satisfaction of immediate (social) material needs. The study has as general objective: Outlining the sociological potential of Philosophical Hermeneutics; as specific objectives: a) To investigate the existential-ontological analysis of the human person in the Philosophy of Gadamer; b) Analyze the coherence of sociological potential, underlying Hermeneutical Philosophy, making the objectivity of the social sciences questionable and obsolete the idea of the only correct interpretation, where experience is the experience of historicity itself.
