Summary: | Objective: To characterize fine motor performance in children with microcephaly by Zika Virus through the Bayley III scale. Methods: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative approach. A study was carried out in children with confirmed cases of microcephaly related to Zika Virus. The evaluations were filmed and performed at the Clinical School of 18 Physiotherapy in Santa Cruz / RN and at home. Anthropometric measures (cephalic perimeter, weight and height) and fine motor function evaluation were performed using Bayley III. The study period was from June to August 2017. Results: Of the 8 children evaluated, all presented significant delays in their fine motor performance, presenting an average score of <7 extremely low scores for these children, as well as motor scores that were much lower than expected (<70). How many anthropometric measures related to P50, most were low for age at birth and evaluation. Conclusion: Children with microcephaly by Zika Virus present delayed fine motor development, actions involving grabbing and loosening and manipulation of objects and toys, interfering with the interaction with the environment and the stimuli during their development. The later this child receives early stimulation, the later the motor development will be. |

Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo do tipo descritivo, de corte transversal e com abordagem quantitativa. Estudo realizado em crianças com casos confirmados de microcefalia relacionado ao Zika Vírus. As avaliações foram filmadas e realizadas a Clínica Escola de Fisioterapia em Santa Cruz/RN e no domicílio. Foram feitas medidas antropométricas (perímetro cefálico, peso e altura) e a avaliação da função motora fina utilizando a Bayley III. O período do estudo foi de junho a agosto de 2017. Resultados: Das 8 crianças avaliadas todas apresentaram atrasos significativos em sua performance motora fina apresentando média <7 pontuações extremamente baixo para essas crianças, como também a pontuação da motora apresentou muito abaixo do esperado (<70). Quantos as medidas antropométricas relacionadas ao P50, a maioria apresentou-se baixo para idade no nascimento e avaliação. Conclusão: Crianças com microcefalia pelo Zika Virus apresentam atraso no desenvolvimento motor fino, nas ações que envolvem agarrar e soltar e na manipulação de objetos e brinquedos, interferindo na interação com o ambiente e com os estímulos durante o seu desenvolvimento.
